STORY INSPIRATION: CHINESE CORPSE BRIDES

There has to be a story idea here somewhere. It's just too bizarre and creepy that it deserves a film or a graphic novel at the very least.

RIP: DAVID CARRADINE

Just found out this morning that David Carradine hanged himself in a Bangkok hotel. I don't know what to say, really.

A great actor has stepped on a rainbow and will forever be no more in the land of the living. He will be missed around here in the secret lair.

Full details here.

I'M SPEECHLESS

I am really-just in awe of this wonderfully bizarre video:

A GOOD SCARE

One of my joys of Youtube is watching those pranks where people get the beejezus scared out of them. This clip is one my all time faves. It's from a Japanese show and involves RINGU. I have to warn you though to turn the volume down a bit because once those gals get freaked out all hell breaks loose and well it's gets pretty damn loud.

AFRO NINJA

To most this is old news, but it's still a classic to be shared:

LINKS TO SHARE: 3-8-08

Check out these damn cool Luchadore pics over at Deadilicious.

I am not exactly what you would call a people person, yet the lives that people lead fascinate me. the weirder the better and this documentary is just proves how strange some can be. However I must say that I don't see the problem with owning that many books. Yet the scary thing is my garage is beginning to look like a hoarders paradise. Maybe it's time to lay off the recycling for props a bit.

TWISTERS AND SNOW

To say that the weather around these parts is acting strangely would be a gross understatement. In less than 24 hours we have seen two twisters, thunderstorms, strong winds, and a impending snowfall.

I woke up yesterday to a relatively warm day, went to the local wal-mart to pick up a few things for a day at the park, and when I left the store it was as if someone had flipped a switch to freeze. It was a windy and very cold day at the park. Not exactly something I would recommend.

The wife and I joked about Strawberry Spring/Indian Summer and sure enough the last several days or so was nothing but that-a illusion. A taste of what could be. However, I did manage to do some latex work outside and the robot puppet's body is coming out a bit more smashing than originally imagined. So I guess it was a bit of a even trade there. Stay weird!

I NEED TO QUIT PISSIN' AND MOANIN'

I thought that my financial crisis was bad until I saw this. Man, when you think you are at your worst in life there is always someone who is six levels below you who is far worse.

SOME HOBBIES ARE STRANGER THAN OTHERS...

As proven in this documentary about women who collect "real doll-esque" artificial babies and take said dolls everywhere they go. It's a bizarre and yet sad world that rarely is glimpsed. See it to believe it, friends. (Boing Boing)

MR. A.M. ARILLO

This is a puppet that I have been working on and off for the past few months. The body isn't completed at the moment, but I am working on that hurdle.

I neglected to get step-by-step photos to share which I personally regret. I like to be able to see the progression of my work and it sucks not to have those photos nearby.

Anyway, the is made from a half-gallon milk jug cut in half and the back cut out. The top spout has been cut off and for reuse. The jug was then spray painted black and with a yellow coat on top. I rigged a crude mouthpiece for the inside and cut out inner mouth shape from a sheet of black craft foam.

For the eyes I used the spout and a lid off a separate bottle and spray painted them black. For in the inner fake lens, I just got empty a 2 liter bottle of soda reused it's plastic which was spray painted a bright red and cut circles out of the new material and glued it inside the robot's eyes.

As mentioned the next challenge is to give this guy a body. So stay tune kids!
